Most
of us associate S.E.C.S with other things, but S.E.C.S
is
the latest, and most powerful, service any business can have for
increasing health, performance, productivity and well-being.
S.E.C.S. is about
developing fully engaged and resilient employees.
We already know that each day the future brings with it more
adversity, more challenges, more stress, more fear, more anger,
more frustration.
We used to have fun – but not any more. We
used to care, really care, but seldom any more. We used to
feel safe, secure and happy – but no more.
From all sides the competition is increasing, and the
pressure is on.
Just where do we expect our staff to get their resources to
survive this onslaught? Where do we go to “let to”, to
release, unload, recover and rejuvinate?
Through many years of human potential development and
transformation we have discovered that we need 3 areas to be
satisfied in our work environment for us to be able to perform
at highly productive levels and create full engagement.

Think about your workplace. How much fun do you or your staff
have? How much
appreciation is shown? How much do you really care?
Does the “company” really care about you, or is it
driven solely by a profit motive with nothing relating to
contribution to the community or staff well-being?
S.E.C.S is about developing a strategy, resources, tools and
support for
your staff to access to develop their lives, their skills, and
their internal personal power.
This combined together with an innovative
incentive to actively participate creates higher levels of
engagement.
It’s about creating a resource and library of positive
information, books, tapes, videos, support/ counseling,
coaching, etc where people can go to get answers, to get new
insights, to release and to relax.
It’s about creating a
place/s where people can release fear, hurt, frustration,
anger, and all the emotions that create DIS-EASE and sickness.
An ongoing S.E.C.S programme will reap rewards in numerous ways, greater
team spirit, creativity, tolerance, trust, health, well-being,
better customer service, increased sales, a happier
environment.
An
innovative S.E.C.S. programme does not have to break your piggy bank. Through
economies of scale and sharing, a suitable service can be
designed and supported.
So is there really a need for this? Well, one of our local
telephone companies reluctantly took the first steps and
agreed to only 4 hours a week of support / coaching services.
Within 3 month due to overwhelming demand this has been
extended to 20 hours per week and growing. There is still an
ever-expanding waiting list.
We service computers, telephones and cars. Why not our
staff?
To survive into the 21st century, work will have to
become less hostile and more homestyle.
Internal trust and support will be paramount. Relationship
skills and engagement levels will be the power of the day, and we don’t have many of
those with divorce levels at over 60%-70%.
Road rage and work
place homicide is a growing part of the pressures of life.
Where will it be safe?
Where can we go to release, relax and recover? – If not
at your office, maybe another company. Another company who
believes that staff are our primary competitive advantage and
shows it in ways we can enjoy.
You could lose staff because they choose to grow to the next
level, or they just don’t feel appreciated, or that the effort
is worth it, or they are not getting sufficient value? Either
way – their leaving is a clear "NO VOTE" for your system, your
rewards, appreciation and environment.
Remember the boiled frog syndrome?
What’s got to happen for you to wake up and make the
relevant changes to create a place where people can be fully
engaged and build a
life, not just earn a living?
